Andreea Mitirita, PwC Romania: “The current legislation gives more certainty to companies in applying for state aid”
“The legislation on state aid schemes has improved in Romania in the last years. In the automotive industry, we have seen companies that have set R&D departments here in Romania and they are applying successfully for incentives,” Andreea Mitirita, Partner, PwC Romania said during Automotive R&D Power Breakfast organized by Automotive Today and The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“The current legislation gives more certainty to companies in applying for state aid. There is an expert register with the Ministry of Innovation, which can confirm the activities that the companies do and that is giving more trust in applying the incentives both for the tax authorities and tax payers.
Besides the research and development incentives, it’s worth noting IT exemptions for software development and also exemptions for reinvested profit. Companies can use part of their profit which is used to buy equipment and technology for software development to deduct their taxes again.”
