Alexandru Saratean, Schaeffler Romania: “We should have a national plan for e-mobility solutions”
“Our company supports the transition to sustainable transport. We believe that without such a transition we cannot achieve the emission reduction that we all need. We are carrying out a series of strategic partnerships through which we try to develop a more ecological, autonomous, and electric transport, so that in the future we can help cities that are becoming more crowded and help public transport,” Alexandru Saratean, Manager Masterplanning & Logistics, Schaeffler Romania said during Green Mobility Conference powered by Automotive Today and The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“In the logistics area, we want to replace diesel trucks for the transport of parts and components with electric trucks. We have already tested a first project and we are in the process of implementation. At the same time, we want to ensure the transportation of employees with electric buses.
A challenge in the area of green mobility refers to electric bicycles. We must not forget that this type of transport is growing, and the electric bicycle is a very good solution for urban transport. Our company is currently developing an e-cargo bicycle. Maybe we should have at the national level not only a program for electric cars, but also one for electric bicycles and other mobility solutions.
We need a national strategy regarding green mobility, so that companies and investors can develop a long-term plan, increasing investments in new mobility solutions.
