The Ministry of Energy to develop a single app for all EV charging stations in Romania
The Ministry of Energy wants to develop a single app for all charging stations for electric cars in Romania. According to official data, the app developed by the Ministry of Energy will bring together the charging points of all operators in the market.
For now, the authorities have launched an online map that brings together more than 1,000 charging points from 500 public locations. The map is available here: https://www.ro-evmap.ro/
“We are discussing an informative map at the moment, but our vision is more ambitious. We want to facilitate a single interface for all users so that they no longer have to download 8-10 different apps to their mobile phone. We had a meeting with the key players in this sector and proposed to them that we also create a system with IoT (Internet of Things) sensors that would inform customers in real time if a station is free or busy,” explained the Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, in a press conference.
The application prepared by the authorities – in collaboration with the Romanian Electric Mobility Association – should be available by the end of this year.
