Continental appoints Karin Dohm as future CFO for Automotive
Continental’s Automotive group sector has appointed Karin Dohm as the future CFO to continue driving forward its already started path to independence. The current chief financial officer of the Hornbach Group will join the Automotive team from April 1, 2025.
She is designated to take over responsibility for the Executive Board function for Accounting, Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Mergers & Acquisitions and Real Estate Management, Investor Relations and IT of the future independent Automotive business alongside the designated CEO Philipp von Hirschheydt.
The Executive Board for the Automotive business is scheduled to be finally appointed after the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting of Continental AG has given the necessary approval to the spin-off on April 25, 2025.

Karin Dohm will join the management board for the Automotive group sector beginning April 1, 2025, with responsibility for Finance and Controlling. She will take over from Claudia Holtkemper (55), who has served in this position since May 2023 and will assume a different position within Continental.

In recent years, Karin Dohm has been responsible for and further developing the CFO department at Hornbach Group, including Planning & Controlling, Accounting, Tax, Corporate Finance and Treasury, Compliance, Data Protection, Internal Auditing and Investor Relations. Prior to her time as CFO on the Board of Management of the Hornbach Group, Karin Dohm spent almost ten years in various global management roles at Deutsche Bank. From this time, she brings with her global experience in capital markets and political regulation, the development of diverse teams, and the management of finance and transformation. Prior to that, she spent 15 years consulting and auditing as a partner at Deloitte. Karin Dohm is an auditor, tax consultant and graduate economist.
The Automotive group sector employs around 96,000 people (as of September 30, 2024) and generated sales of around €20.3 billion in the fiscal year 2023.
