Duster, Logan and Sandero were ranked in the top 25 best-selling models in Russia in January

Duster, Logan and Sandero were ranked in the top 25 best-selling models in Russia in January, according to data released by the Association of European Businesses (AEB), while car and light commercial vehicle deliveries climbed 31% to 102,464 units, the most significant monthly gain in 2011, Automotive News Europe and Reuters report.

Last month, Lada Vesta was ranked first among the best-selling cars in Russia, with AvtoVAZ (6,696 vehicles) followed by Rio, Kia (6,582 units), Lada Granta, AvtoVAZ (5,315 vehicles) , Crete, Hyundai (3,833 units), Polo, Volkswagen (3,209 vehicles), Sportage, Kia (3,067 units), Solaris, Hyundai (2,978 units), and Duster with 2,510 vehicles. 15 and 20 are Sandero and Logan, with 1,760 and 1,553 vehicles, respectively.

Duster, Logan and Sandero are manufactured by Renault.

“Sales growth will continue in the short run, albeit at a lower pace,” said Joerg Schreiber, president of the Association of European Businesses.

In 2017, car sales in Russia climbed 11.9 percent in 2017 to 1.59 million units after four consecutive years of decline.

In 2017, Ria de la Kia (96,689 units) was ranked first in the list of best-selling cars in Russia, followed by Lada Granta (93,686 vehicles) and Lada Vesta (77,291 units), both of AvtoVAZ, Solaris, Hyundai (68,614 vehicles), Crete, Hyundai (55,305 units), Polo, Volkswagen (48,595 vehicles), and Duster with 43,828 vehicles. On the 13th and 14th place are Logan and Sandero with 30,640 and 30,210 vehicles, respectively.

Renault holds a 50% stake in the holding company that controls AvtoVAZ, while the Japanese partner Nissan Motor Co. has a package of 17.13%. Also, the Rostec state-owned Russian corporation owns a 32.87% stake. Together, Renault, Nisan and AvtoVAZ were responsible for about one-third of the 1.6 million new cars sold last year to Russia, but their combined sales fell 32% year-on-year.
