Continental invests 50 million Euro for new distribution center
Groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new Continental distribution center near Hanover airport in Germany.
Representatives from the world of politics, construction companies, Continental and the project developer cleared the way for the new 50 million Euro project in March. From this distribution center, drive belts and surface materials for the automotive industry will be sent all across Europe.
Over the course of the year, Bertram Projektmanagement GmbH will invest around 40 million Euro into the state-of-the-art building and outdoor areas of the approximately 80,000 sqm site on the corner of Münchner Strasse and Schwabenstrasse. Continental is also investing more than 10 million Euro in machinery and equipment.
By the end of 2018, the building complex covering 34,000 sqm, with around 20,000 spaces for pallets and a fully automated small parts warehouse will be ready for service. This will help to make working procedures even more efficient.
