Dacia and Ford post total turnover of 6.1 billion Euro in 2017
Romania’s two car manufacturers, Automobile Dacia and Ford Romania, posted record high turnover and profits in 2017, on stronger sales and production of new models, official data show.
Automobile Dacia, owned by French group Renault, registered a total turnover of 5.07 billion Euro in 2017, up 11.5 percent from the previous year, according to the Finance Mnistry data.
Dacia produces passenger cars like Logan, Sandero and Duster at its manufacturing plant located in Mioveni, Arges County.
The second car manufacturer, Ford Romania, which owns a passenger car factory in Craiova (south-western Romania), recorder a turnover of 1.06 billion Euro last year, up 30 percent compared with 2016.
In 2017, Ford recorded a total production of 49,771 cars and Dacia produced 313,883 units in Romania.
