Pirelli Slatina suspends production, puts 4,000 employees in technological unemployment
Pirelli Slatina announced on Wednesday that will suspend its activity and 4,000 employees will be put in technological unemployment.
“Pirelli Slatina announces the suspension of the activity of the factory, from March 23 to 31, in the context of recent concerns regarding the spread of COVID-19, but also the slowdown in the demand for products on the automotive market. In addition to the measures to prevent COVID-19 contamination already applied inside the factory, Pirelli Slatina announces that the resumption of the production activity will be done with the smallest number of employees, precisely in order to guarantee the highest standards of protection, while ensuring the supply of the requested products. The Pirelli company will constantly monitor the evolution of the situation and is ready to intervene with additional measures if necessary”, according to a statement from the company.
