Hödlmayr Logistics Romania enters fall with ‘optimistic yet prudent approach’
After several dramatic months, in which the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic were strongly felt, the automotive industry is gradually beginning to recover, according to Hödlmayr representatives in Romania. Hödlmayr Logistics Romania is optimistic about this autumn: “The swift reactions and, consequently, the necessary measures that have been adopted are the reasons why automotive experts estimate that, by the end of 2020, the market will stabilize at around 70 percent of the previous year’s volume.”
“As employer, we were among the companies that accessed the financial assistance program for employee protection. We also implemented a work from home program for most employees and took all safety measures recommended by the authorities. Contact management with external visitors is also clearly regulated. Our priority is to ensure the best level of protection for all involved,” Tamer Sen, General Manager of Hödlmayr Logistics Romania, summarizes the last few months: „The first half of this year was severely affected by Covid-19, and the return of the market took place in a normally very volatile period, the summer period. If autumn does not bring other unforeseen events, we can start from the premise that the market will recover.”
As specialist in multimodal vehicle logistics, Hödlmayr connects and optimizes the use of all means of transport. For a short time, Hödlmayr Logistics Romania has its own railway connection, directly at the compound – more than 1,500 vehicles can be loaded here weekly. In particular, the two nearby automotive factories benefit from the good geographical location of the railway link.
Hödlmayr Logistics Romania is the second automotive logistics company in Romania, currently counting over 200 employees. The fleet of vehicles is made up of over 100 special conveyors. The headquarters in Bascov includes a parking capacity for approx. 3.000 vehicles and provides – besides transport solutions, service and improvement and quality assurance. The turnover of the Hödlmayr branch rose in 2019 to 33 million Euros.
