Romania’s car production reached 438,000 units, down by 12 percent in 2020: ACAROM
Romania’s auto production last year reached 438,000 cars, of which 259,000 units were made by Dacia, and another 179,000 were made by Ford at the Craiova plant, according to data from the Romanian Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACAROM)
During 2020, a total of 438,207 cars were produced at the Mioveni and Craiova plants, down 11.9% compared to 2019. Most of the domestic production was again provided by Dacia. The manufacturer from Mioveni reported 259,199 cars produced, down 34.8% compared to 2019. Duster recorded a total of over 183,000 units and was followed by Dacia Sandero with 36,416 units and Dacia Logan with 30,834 units. Also, in Mioveni were produced a little over 8,600 Logan MCV units. Meanwhile, Ford announced a total production of 179,008 units for the Ecosport and Puma models, up 27%.
