Ford produced 142,000 Ecosport units in Craiova in 2018: production and exports have tripled compared to 2017

Ford has recorded a production of about 142,000 Ecosport units last year at the Craiova plant, almost three times higher than the one recorded in 2017.

The rising popularity of the SUV has led to a significant increase in Craiova’s production, especially since it is the only Ecosport-producing plant for the European market.

Thus, Ford ended the year 2018 with a production of 141,507 units, an increase of 184% compared to 2017.

At the beginning of January, Dacia announced a production of 335,262 units in 2018 at the Mioveni plant, up 6.8%. Most units were Duster (nearly 237,000 units), while Sandero was in 42,000 units, and Logan in nearly 34,000 units.

Therefore, Dacia and Ford together produced 476,769 units in 2018.
