Catalin Stratulat, Wipro: “The biggest trend right now is for sure electric mobility”
“Before the pandemic started, let’s say one year ago, the automotive industry had already some challenges and there we were already some so called mega trends. Specifically, that was connected, autonomous, shared, electric or CASE. The question everyone was asking one year ago was who’s going to pay for that. Because billions are needed to develop these modern cars with advanced features,” Catalin Stratulat, Engineering Head Europe Industrial & Engineering Services, Wipro said during Automotive Forum 2020 powered by Automotive Today and The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“Suddenly the pandemic started and people were wondering what to do next. Let’s have a quick look at what happened with this four mega trends. Shared mobility has a completely new meaning in the new context. This probably will mean more car sharing, than ride sharing. People will feel a lot safer driving in a single car that they manage for a given amount of time than jumping in a car with a bunch of other people.
This working from home is here to stay. We’re not sure that in 1-2 years we will go back to our old offices, but working from home will continue. The biggest trend right now is for sure electric mobility. The pandemic has only accelerated the electric mobility. Probably in the future people will be asking for more electric cars.”
