Radu Pavel, NXP Semiconductors Romania: “There is an exponential growth of data being generated by the cars”

“What we see in the last couple of months is that there is an apparent very fast recovery. That means for sure an acceleration of our projects. Everything needs to be smart. We need to have all kind of processes that give confort to the user. Everything needs to be connected, efficient. We are talking about new ways of driving down the fuel consumption for example. Everybody wants to feel safe and secure,” Radu Pavel, Country Manager, NXP Semiconductors, Romania said during Automotive Forum 2020 powered by Automotive Today and The Diplomat-Bucharest.

“If we look at data, there is an exponential growth of data being generated by the cars. We need connections between the car and the infrastructure, in-car service gateways, over-the-air upgrade capabilities. For this reason, the words safety and security are part of what we are doing everyday.

This exponential growth on software is what we see in our team in Romania. Electrification is the future but we must also concentrate on what happens today.”
