Madalina Racovitan, KPMG Romania: “Less than 40% of managers are ladies, and the percentage is significantly lower in the automotive industry”
“Women represent about 50% of the total workforce, but statistics show that a much smaller number of women hold leadership positions in organizations in general. Less than 40% of managers are ladies, and in the automotive industry the percentage of ladies in management positions is significantly lower,” Madalina Racovitan, Tax Partner, Head of People Services, KPMG Romania said during the “Women Professionals In The Automotive Industry” conference.
“The diversity of management teams is a competitive advantage for organizations. Diversity generates more innovation, there are more perspectives, and companies benefit from an advantage when they have different points of view, diversity of gender, nationality, or other nature.
The automotive industry has evolved in recent years. Both perception and reality showed us that it is a field of men, but the industry has evolved a lot and we are trying to overcome this myth. There are many examples of ladies who have built successful careers in the automotive industry.”
