Roos Claeyssens, Forvia Covers Division: “The authenticity of people brings the added value”

“The automotive industry is a very diverse world. Every talent can find a place in the automotive industry. You have huge possibilities: creating software, creating products, quality, sales, purchasing. You can always find a way to develop your potential,” Roos Claeyssens, Operations Director, Forvia Covers Division said during Women Professionals in the Automotive Industry conference organized by Automotive Today.

“The automotive sector is having a growth mindset, and this helps you see people as a potential, and as what they can do in the future. The onboarding process is very important, and we must show the people that we see them as potential, we make each other grow and we are like a family.

Be confident and give confidence. As a company, we have to give confidence to the people. We must lead by example. The authenticity of people brings the added value. What is the added value of one female in a male environment? It’s the difference that you make, the approach that you bring to the team. In the future, real leaders will be the ones that will be stepping out of their egos, stepping out of their comfort zone and look for different people than they are themselves. Step out of your comfort zone, look for differences, look for the potential of different people that you can add to your team.”
