Irina Butnaru, Wipro: “Romania is our number one target in Europe and we plan to grow here”
“We are investing now to bring even more manufacturing plants in Romania, given the crises and the hiccups we just went through. We decided to bring things closer to Europe as we grow here. Romania is our number one target in Europe and we plan to grow here. We are connected to the university environment, we invest in building capabilities there and what we would like to see more is an interdisciplinary approach because it’s not only the engineers that we need, but we also need people from health, sociology to try to do R&D in these areas as well,” Irina Butnaru, Romania Country Lead & General Manager, Wipro said during Automotive R&D Power Breakfast organized by Automotive Today and The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“We need to make sure that we put ethics first, we need to make sure that we put health and wellness on top of everything because the cars were representing and utility and now it’s more an experience.
Cybersecurity is one of our sweet spots. It all comes to the point of thinking ahead and imagining the future world in the sense of looking into automotive space and finding some examples that are connected to the broader society. I will link this to the ethic topic, to data theft, to the cybercrimes because human imagination goes beyond what we can think of today. With the current development and with the speed that we’re seeing today in the technology world, cybersecurity becomes a hot topic in all the areas.”
