Razvan Craciunescu, University Politehnica of Bucharest: “We want to transform our campus into a testing centre for new solutions”
“Together with Bosch, we are in a project financed through PNRR with smart city and carbon neutral features. We want to test some 5G cells on the university campus and with the help of Bosch equipment we want to see how data transfer works in real time, how several vehicles communicate with each other. In general, we want to analyze the area of vehicle communication, vehicle to everything. We are trying to continue research in this field through this PNRR project,” Razvan Craciunescu, Associate Professor, 5G/ 6G Lab Coordinator, University Politehnica of Bucharest said during Green Mobility Conference powered by Automotive Today and The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“One of the pillars on which the university’s strategy is based are the students, and we need to see what the requirements of the automotive industry are when it comes to a certain type of specialization. There are also researchers with intense activity in the area of green mobility and maybe we should bring them face to face with the industry so that we understand the challenges of the industry and the industry can see what kind of activities we carry out at the university, and this collaboration leads to the development better and better solutions.
As part of the project with Bosch, we are trying to turn the university campus into a test center for anyone who wants to test their solutions, to be a kind of plug&play. We are developing a digital twin for the UPB campus.
