Valeo appoints Edouard de Pirey as new Chief Financial Officer
Christophe Périllat, CEO of Valeo, has nominated Edouard de Pirey as Chief Financial Officer from January 2, 2024. He takes over from Robert Charvier who, after 24 years with Valeo Group, will retire as of 29 March 2024. Robert Charvier will remain with the company in an advisory capacity through his departure, to ensure a smooth transition.

Edouard de Pirey, aged 47, began his career as a civil servant as the Director of Industry, Mines and Energy for New Caledonia in 2003. In 2006 he joined the Budget Department of the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry as Deputy Head of the Energy, Shareholdings, Industry and Innovation office. In 2007 he joined the Ministry of Higher Education and Research as an advisor to the Minister.
Edouard de Pirey joined Valeo in 2009 as Group Vice President Corporate Planning & Strategy. In 2012 he was nominated President of Valeo China. In 2018 he returned to France as Product Group VP Powertrain Electrification Systems. In 2021, he became Valeo LiDAR CEO, a post he held until he was appointed deputy CFO in July 2023.
Edouard de Pirey graduated in Mathematics from the prestigious Ecole Normale supérieure (Ulm), before qualifying as an engineer at the Ecole Nationale supérieure des Mines de Paris. He is an alumni from Harvard Business School.
Edouard de Pirey will report directly to Christophe Périllat and is member of the Executive Committee.
