Romania’s car production reaches new record in 2023

In December 2023, a total of 34,965 new cars were produced at the Mioveni and Craiova plants, down 2.7 percent compared to the same period of 2022, according to data from ACAROM
At the Dacia plant, 22,117 vehicles were assembled, down 2.1 percent compared to December 2022. The Ford Otosan plant in Craiova manufactured 12,848 cars (-3.6 percent).
Despite the decline in December, Romania’s car production for the whole year 2023 registered a new record: 513,050 units, up 0.7 percent from 2022 and 22 percent more than 2021.
