NXP Romania officially inaugurated the R&D center in Sibiu
On June 12, 2024, the company officially inaugurated the research and development center for integrated solutions dedicated to the automotive industry in Sibiu.
The company has been present in Romania with headquarters in Bucharest since 2000, through Motorola and Freescale, the company contributing to the creation of solutions for the automotive, consumer and industrial IoT markets, and by developing software platforms that integrate NXP components and software from partners.
As automotive architectures evolve, the teams specialize in developing integrated software products that improve the customer experience by providing reference hardware and software platforms that are easy to use and configure. The company continues to recruit, with positions open in all key development areas.
The center of excellence in Sibiu focuses on the design and development of software products in the automotive industry. As part of the ecosystem, supporting higher education in Romania is very important to us – we have ongoing programs dedicated to collaboration with universities in the country. The collaboration with the universities in Sibiu took off a year ago and focuses on intership programs, courses held by NXP employees, investments in laboratories, open days, scholarships offered to students and many others.

After more than 9 months since the first announcement in which we communicated the opening of the new NXP location, the center in Sibiu hosts 90 engineers and students, with advanced technical expertise and extensive experience in the industry. We want to continue to build a diverse and strong team, where everyone has the right to an opinion, respect and equal opportunities to grow in their career. We develop state-of-the-art automotive software products, compliant with ISO21434, ISO26262, ASPICE and AUTOSAR standards to accelerate innovative technologies, part of “software-defined vehicle”.
