Turkish company Bozankaya to deliver 33 new electric buses for Timisoara
Turkish company Bozankaya, specialized in the production of electric vehicles for public transport, expands its collaboration with Timisoara City Hall by winning the tender for the delivery of 33 new trolleybuses.
“It is another step in our strategy to increase the attractiveness of public transport in Timișoara and to offer travelers decent travel conditions. In fact, in recent years we managed to modernize the fleet with 70 new electric trams and buses, and this modernization continues,” said the mayor of Timișoara, Dominic Fritz.
The Turkish company signed an agreement for the delivery of 40 trams to Timișoara City Hall and 34 trams to Iași City Hall. Within these projects, the company has so far delivered 25 trams to Timișoara and 16 trams to Iași. Now, Bozankaya has won the tender for new trolleybuses in Timisoara, to deliver 33 units.
The contract with Timișoara City Hall will include the delivery in two different batches. Lot I includes eight 12 m battery-powered trolleybuses, and Lot II includes 25 articulated 18m trolleybuses.

The initiative benefits from funding through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, with a total value of over 80 million RON.
