Romania’s car production hits record in 2024 with over 550,000 units

Romanian car production reached a new record in 2024, exceeding the threshold of 550,000 units, according to data announced by the Romanian Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACAROM).
In December 2024, a total of 41,358 cars were produced at the Mioveni and Craiova plants, up 18.2 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
20,917 vehicles were assembled at the Dacia plant (22,117 in December 2023). The Ford Otosan plant in Craiova manufactured 20,441 cars (vs. 12,848 in December 2023).
In 2024, car production in Romania was 560,102 vehicles, up 9.1 percent compared to 2023 (513,050 units).
