Auto Cobalcescu invests 400,000 euros in photovoltaic panels for dealerships in Bucharest and Pitesti
Auto Cobalcescu, car dealer for the Dacia, Renault and Nissan brands, announced investments of 400,000 euros in the installation of photovoltaic panels within the dealerships in Bucharest and Pitesti.
“We chose to make this investment now because the costs of not acting would be much higher in the future. It is a strategic decision that protects our business in the long term. Companies are already starting to feel the pressure from authorities, expenses, investors and even their own customers to rethink the way they do business and invest in environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solutions and processes. For this year, we are considering starting the energy transformation process in other areas of the business as well,” says Dan Grigore, GM of Auto Cobalcescu.
Auto Cobălcescu completed the installation of the first photovoltaic system with a power of 350 kWp in June 2024 to reduce electricity costs and transition to green energy sources, on the carport of the showroom in Bucharest. With a total of 648 panels, the photovoltaic system was installed on an area of 1,960 sqm. The photovoltaic plant generates approximately 399 MWh annually, covering up to 50% of the consumption needs of the location.
“The efficient and fluid way in which we managed to build this solution, together with our partners, and especially the speed with which we started to see results, led us to replicate the solution for the Auto Cobălcescu dealership location in Pitești. Here, on the carport of the showroom, we implemented the second photovoltaic system, with a power of 110 kW. Now, with the help of photovoltaic panels we already cover between 80 and 100% of the consumption needs of the Pitești location, depending on the season and weather conditions. We believe that the use of renewable resources represents the future in business, and we expect to recover our investment quite quickly, within 3 years.” says Dan Grigore.
