Romania’s car production down by 11 percent in the first quarter of 2025

Romanian car production reached a level of 135,723 units in the first 3 months of 2025, 11.2 percent less than in the first quarter of last year, according to data published by ACAROM.
In March, a total of 50,463 cars were produced at the Mioveni and Craiova plants, down 5.8 percent compared to the same period in 2024.
The Dacia plant assembled 27,230 vehicles (vs. 28,602 in March 2024). The Ford Otosan plant in Craiova manufactured 23,233 cars (vs. 25,094 in March 2024).
Car production in Romania reached a new record in 2024, exceeding the threshold of 550,000 units. Last year, car production in Romania was 560,102 vehicles, up 9.1 percent compared to 2023.
