Mihai Lukacsel is the new manager of the Schaeffler location in Timisoara

Starting in 2025, Mihai Lukacsel is the new leader of the Timișoara location within Schaeffler Romania. He also manages the research and development activities within the company’s E-Mobility division, for the Romania and South-Eastern Europe subregion.
Following the merger between Schaeffler and Vitesco Technologies, Cristian Mihaly – the former leader of the Timișoara location and the country manager of Vitesco Technologies Romania – took on new challenges at the sub-regional level, becoming the new Head of R&D for Romania and South-Eastern Europe.
Mihai Lukacsel has over 20 years of experience in the automotive field, in various roles, with local and global responsibilities. For the last four years, he coordinated the global team dedicated to mechanical engineering for power electronic applications, giving him the necessary experience to currently lead the E-Mobility division in Romania and South-Eastern Europe (SEE).
“I strongly believe in the power of teamwork and know that the true strength of Schaeffler lies in the brilliant minds and diverse ideas that make up this organization,” said Mihai Lukacsel.
“In today’s rapidly changing environment, effective leadership is more crucial than ever. By collaborating closely at the local and sub-regional levels, we can increase our impact and continue to evolve as a future-oriented organization,” specified Cristian Mihaly.
The Timisoara location of Schaeffler Romania is one of the main research and development centers. It has approximately 1000 people dedicated to solutions for propulsion systems specific to electric, hybrid and internal combustion vehicles and a qualification and validation laboratory recognized with the highest accreditation in the industry.
The location is part of the four research and development centers in Romania, located in Timisoara, Sibiu, Brasov and Iasi, which bring together over 2200 employees who create products and solutions for the most important automotive companies.
